Walk for Life - Saturday, May 11th

Gowen Park, Sanford

Alpha's Annual Walk for Life is a family oriented fundraiser event to raise awareness of the sanctity of human life in our community, while raising funds needed to serve our clients and provide for their needs

The Walk is approximately 2.5 miles beginning at Gowen park, past scenic Number One Pond, and up Main Street in Sanford. Bring the whole family and join us for this fun event!

Sponsors can donate or pledge online, or can give you the donation or pledge directly. We will bill all pledges following the day of the Walk.

Free Walk t-shirts while supplies last.

If you would like to participate, but are unable to join us, you can simply collect pledges or online donations, walk on your own in your neighborhood, and mail in your pledge brochure!

Step 1: Register online or download the pledge brochure and fill out the registration information inside.

Step 2: Ask everyone you know to sponsor you! Ask in person, via email or social media! You may be amazed at how many say yes!

Step 3: Be sure all names and addresses are complete and easy to read. Bring this pledge brochure, and any donations given directly to you on the day of the Walk and we will handle the rest!

Thank you!

There is no cost to participate in the Walk for Life, although it is a fundraiser. All funds raised through this event make it possible to serve our clients completely free of charge.

God calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves, and that love compels us to impact our community for life. We speak life. We share truth. We foster hope. We are rebuilding a culture of life. Rebuilding a culture of life within our community requires hope. It requires faith. It requires prayer. And it requires action. Obedience to the command of loving our neighbor as ourselves requires intentionality. It requires us to see others as God sees them; to view them through the lens of their intrinsic and eternal value. It requires us to love them as ourselves. This is not a passive action; instead it requires us to engage. Loving others means speaking life, sharing truth, and fostering hope. It means responding to brokenness and hurt as Jesus did- sacrificially.

Each day at Alpha brings the opportunity to love our neighbors as ourselves; including mothers, fathers, and their children. We help each client feel welcome and provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for them to talk through their options, fears, struggles, and hopes. We communicate to our clients that they are valued, speak life into their situation, share truth, and foster hope. Our goal for this year’s Walk for Life is to raise $15,000. Our clients understand that Alpha is able to serve them completely free of charge, and provide for their needs, because someone they will probably never meet loved them enough to provide for their needs through their resources or time. If 60 participants raise a minimum of $250, then we will reach our goal!
