When a woman or couple walks through Alpha’s doors, they are often overwhelmed—unsure of what comes next, carrying fear, questions, and the weight of feeling alone. Alpha’s Annual Walk for Life exists because no one should have to face that moment without support, truth, and hope.
The Walk for Life is a family-friendly community event that raises awareness of the sanctity of human life while directly supporting the women, men, and families we serve—at no cost to them. Every step taken helps ensure that our clients are met with compassion, practical support, and a safe place to talk through their options.
The walk route is approximately 2.5 miles, beginning at Gowen Park, passing Number One Pond, and continuing up Main Street in Sanford. Families of all ages are welcome, and free Walk T-shirts are available while supplies last.
New this year, we are excited to introduce a 5K Fun Run! Whether you prefer a leisurely walk or a faster pace, there is now an option for everyone to participate. The 5K Fun Run offers a more energetic way to support life while still keeping the event welcoming and fun for all ages and abilities. The 5K Fun Run sign up fee is $35, but it will be waived if the runner raises $250.
Can’t join us in person? You can still make a powerful impact by collecting pledges or online donations and walking in your own neighborhood—because it’s not about where you walk, but who you walk for.
There is no cost to participate. Every dollar raised through the Walk for Life allows Alpha to continue serving clients completely free of charge—offering pregnancy testing, limited obstetrical ultrasounds, pregnancy and parenting education, material support, and compassionate care.
Each day at Alpha, clients are reminded that they are seen, heard, and valued. We speak life into their situations, share truth with love, and foster hope for their future and the future of their children. Many of the women and families we serve will never meet the people who made their care possible—but your generosity becomes part of their story.
Our goal for this year’s Walk for Life is to raise $25,000. If 100 participants raise just $250 each, we will fully fund the care that allows Alpha to continue walking alongside families when they need it most.
